Brace yourself for the summer season! You may have been eagerly awaiting for its arrival, but with all those extra hours of sunshine to soak in come added risks too - sun spots on skin

Whether you’re tanning at the beach or basking in your backyard, we know that sun protection is essential, and understanding how to treat unwanted skin discoloration is equally important. Now, it's time to say goodbye to those unsightly sunspots and learn how you can shine through the season by taking care of your skin!

What are sun spots on skin?

You know what they say - a spot of sunshine is good for the soul. But not all spots on your skin are quite so uplifting.

Enter sun spots (also known as solar lentigines, which is a way less fun name). These spots are caused by prolonged exposure to the sun's rays - which means they're a little reminder that maybe you should have worn sunscreen that one time at the beach. They're usually small, flat, and brown, and they're harmless (though always check with a dermatologist if you're not sure!).
